Why I Started Creators Aotearoa

A while back, I noticed something that didn’t sit right with me.

So many amazing charities were out there doing life-changing work… but hardly anyone knew about them. They didn’t have the time, budget, or marketing know-how to tell their stories in a way that really cut through.

At the same time, I knew heaps of clever, creative marketers who cared about causes but didn’t always have spare cash to donate.

The lightbulb moment came when I was working on One Good Kiwi at One NZ — we featured over 100 charities on the app, and it was incredible to see what happened when they got more visibility. It made me wonder: what if we could connect creative skills directly with the charities who need them most?

That’s how Creators Aotearoa was born — a place where charities can find the marketing magic they’ve been missing, and creatives can give back in the way they know best.

Because when creativity and purpose team up… good things happen.
